Pet Play

Animal Vocalizations

Making or enjoying animal-inspired sounds such as barking, purring, meowing, howling, neighing or mooing during consensual adult roleplay. Animal Vocalizations means enjoying animal-inspired sounds in adult roleplay. Making a sound and enjoying a partner's sound are separate preferences; neither requires giving up ordinary speech.

What it's like

Someone may enjoy a playful bark, purr, meow, howl, neigh or moo. Sounds can express affection, playfulness or immersion. They do not determine whether a person is dominant, submissive, affectionate or instinct-led.

Safety & consent

This is roleplay among consenting adults. Actual animals are never participants. Anyone can speak normally, pause or stop at any time. Agree on welcome sounds, volume and setting. Use a comfortable voice and stop if it strains or hurts. Keep a clear verbal or nonverbal way to pause, and never make silence or staying in character a condition of being heard.

Common misconceptions

Getting started safely

  1. Try one comfortable sound in a private setting, and ask how it felt without expecting a performance.
  2. Check in afterward and change the agreement if either person wants to.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to sound realistic?

No. It is a shared preference, not an imitation contest; ordinary speech always remains available.

How to bring it up

  1. Prompt 1"Are there animal sounds you would enjoy making or hearing during roleplay?"
  2. Prompt 2"What should remain outside this activity, and how would you like to pause or stop?"
