Pet Play & Fantasy

Chastity / Denial

Chastity and denial is a kink centered on restricting or withholding sexual release, either through physical devices or agreed behavioral rules. A person wearing a chastity device (a cage or belt that physically prevents erection, penetration, or direct genital stimulation) surrenders control of their orgasms to a partner, often called a keyholder. Denial can also exist without devices, relying purely on rules and trust. This dynamic commonly overlaps with power exchange, as the keyholder decides if, when, and how orgasm is permitted. Periods of denial can last hours, days, weeks, or longer depending on what both partners negotiate. The appeal often centers on heightened arousal, submission, anticipation, and the psychological intimacy of giving another person control over a very personal aspect of one's body. Chastity play appears frequently alongside D/s (dominant and submissive) relationships and pet play dynamics, where restriction reinforces a power structure both parties find meaningful.

Safety & consent

Physical devices must fit correctly to avoid skin irritation, circulation issues, or trapped moisture leading to infection. Daily hygiene checks are necessary during extended wear. Establish a clear protocol for emergencies requiring immediate removal, and keep a spare key accessible. Emotionally, prolonged denial can intensify feelings of vulnerability, so regular check-ins about comfort and mental state are important. Negotiate duration, rules, and release conditions explicitly before starting. Safe words or signals should apply to this dynamic just as they would to any other power exchange.

How to bring it up

  1. Prompt 1"I've been curious about chastity dynamics and what it might feel like to hand that kind of control to a partner. Is that something you'd be open to exploring?"
  2. Prompt 2"Would you ever want to try a keyholder arrangement, where you decide when I'm allowed to orgasm?"
  3. Prompt 3"I've been reading about chastity play and I think the denial aspect appeals to me. Can we talk about whether that fits into what we do together?"
